Expertise Include:

I have over 30 years of experience teaching and tutoring students from the kindergarten level of math to college calculus. I enjoy helping those who struggle with math, but I also enjoy the challenge of teaching those who are exceptionally bright.

My Education

Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Auburn University.

Master of Science degree in mathematics from University of Alabama in Birmingham.

I also have a current Teacher's Certificate from the State of Alabama and 18 semester hours of post graduate studies at UAB.

In the summer of 2006 I completed courses in Discrete Dynamical Systems and in Advanced Web Design.

In the summer of 2007 I completed courses in Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic and Special Topics of Binomial Expansions and Determinations of Pi.

My Experience

I have over 30 years of experience teaching and tutoring students from the kindergarten level of math to college calculus.

I presently tutor/teach in my home, on the world wide web and at a homeschool co-op in Mountain Brook, AL.

I have taught in 3 of Alabama's colleges.

I homeschooled our four children for 17 years. I was responsible for teaching them all of their subjects.

I enjoy teaching math, and I have found it to be a real challenge to create and teach algebra classes on the world wide web.

I have been teaching online classes since 2002. I now offer 7 math classes year round.

I also designed and continue to maintain my own web site, www.mathinabox.com. I try to provide help and advice for students or parents with math questions or with math course decisions.

I have written three math placement tests and I offer these free at my web site, www.mathinabox.com .
