Nurse Practitioner responsibilities include diagnosis and treatment of patients in the primary care setting. I work essentially independently, in consultation with the physician, seeing approximately 14-20 patients per day. Incorporated are prescriptive authority, ordering of appropriate diagnostic testing, collaboration and consultation with various specialists, appropriate billing and coding, and limited on-call services.
