Time and again I have observed the life-changing aspects of overseas travel and living, and I hope to spread the opportunity for such transformation to as many people as I can.

Classes I'm Teaching

My Education

I have a Bachelors' degree in Linguistics and Folklore from Pitzer College in Claremont California, and a Masters' degree in International Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

My Experience

Besides living in Guyana and Barbados as a child, I have worked in human development in Nepal, the USA, Japan and the Philippines, and have trained and supervised overseas volunteers and interns working in other countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia.  I have studied eleven foreign languages and can still speak four of them fluently.

My Publications

I have publications dealing with cross-cultural communication and intercultural understanding in magazines and websites in Barbados, Japan, Nepal, and the USA.
