2003-2004: Grant Reviewer for the federal government 10/98 to Present: Proposal Writer/Technical Writer, Southcentral Foundation, Anchorage, Alaska. Develop and coordinate grant-funded projects for Alaska Native/American Indian health-related programs and projects, conferring with program staff to determine project descriptions and budgets; write proposals and applications for funding according to internal policies, appropriate reviews by administrative and program staff, and timelines; ensure that all proposals meet requirements of the funding agency or organization; collect health care delivery and community health information for analysis and preparation of grant proposals. Also write and edit business communications for the organization, and provide editing consultation and proofreading skills to staff. 4/01 to Present: Bookstore Owner, A Novel View Bookstore, Anchorage, Alaska. Sole proprietor of bookstore containing inventory of approximately 25,000 books, primarily used; manage all administrative business affairs and supervise one full-time and one part-time staff; hold arts events for customers. 10/99 to 4/03: Freelance Music Reviewer, Anchorage Daily News, Anchorage, Alaska.
